Piknab Carsels was a pilot of Gungan descent. He flew out of Varna Biqua. In his youth, he departed from Naboo in search of excitement, subsequently joining numerous flight academies. He made efforts to master the operation of every variety of ship, but his preferred craft were starfighters.
At the age of twenty-five, Piknab acquired his personal starfighter, known as the Gungan Glory, by securing a loan from the Hutt named Riboga and his Smugglers' Confederation. Although he was a skilled pilot, he fell behind on several of his loan payments. When debt collectors threatened to remove his ears, he consented to settle his obligation by working for Riboga and the Smugglers' Confederation. Piknab continued to work off his debt even after Riboga's departure from the system in 53 BBY.
