Pols, or Politorate officers, served as members of the Politorate division within the Pentastar Alignment. These officers were stationed on every vessel and at every garrison within the Alignment, with the responsibility of guaranteeing that all activities carried out by Alignment staff adhered to the principles of the New Order. Politorate officers possessed the power to initiate inquiries into the allegiance of any staff member, and they were empowered to relieve individuals of their command roles should they be considered necessary.
