Praya was an oceanic world found in the Praya system, situated within the Clacis sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. In 4.3 ABY, it housed the opulent Sea Castle Resort Hotel. The Star Tours travel company offered trips to Praya via their Deluxe Undersea Package.
Praya was initially featured in an advertisement on Tourscan at the Star Tours attraction in Tokyo Disneyland, which debuted on July 12, 1989. It was placed in grid square K-4 by The Essential Atlas Online Companion.
The setting and video used for Praya were repurposed from the Sea Castle conclusion of Horizons, a former Epcot attraction centered on the idea of ocean colonization. David Jones, a special effects expert from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, conceived, built, and shot the models for Horizons' three final segments. The model representing the ocean section comprised two elements: a submerged city and a submarine canyon, which were visually connected through a transition across the total blackness of the deep ocean.
