The Probe-Mate hyperspace pod from Arakyd Industries was a pod designed to transport Viper probe droids using both a hyperdrive and a sublight drive to traverse hyperspace. It featured a streamlined design.

The pod possessed an integrated, completely automated droid brain that included astrogation abilities. Capable of carrying a single droid, it could land at a pre-determined location, though its navigation computer was limited to a single hyperspace jump. It was commonly deployed from an Imperial-class Star Destroyer before the ship jumped to hyperspace, heading towards a specific star system.
Its length was 3.4 meters, and it could carry consumables for up to a month. The maximum speed for atmospheric descent was 1,200 kph. It also featured various sensory capabilities, including a sensor baffler to reduce its detectability. After landing on the target planet, the pod was abandoned, enabling the Viper probe droid to begin its mission.
Arakyd typically sold the pod for 22,500 credits.

Illustrations depicting the pod, such as those found in The Essential Guide to Droids, sometimes show visual differences compared to other depictions of the spacecraft.
Some sources also mention the Predator I, which is another hyperspace pod also designed to transport the Viper droid, but with different specifications from the Probe-Mate pod.
