Project Iokath represents an endeavor executed by a species whose designation is now unknown, occurring in the ages prior to the Manderon Period.
Composed of scientists and engineers, this species had dedicated centuries to the design, construction, and refinement of weapons capable of mass destruction. These weapons were tested on numerous unaware worlds within the Unknown Regions, showing a complete absence of ethical considerations. Project Iokath was an even grander scheme. Its purpose was to construct a home for the entire species, a structure both expandable, adaptable, and impervious to external threats. To achieve this, they selected a nondescript star located within the Unknown Regions. They proceeded to dismantle every celestial object in its system, even the smallest asteroids, extracting their fundamental components. These components were then repurposed to build a colossal, self-sufficient ecosphere that enveloped the star completely, harnessing its total energy output. This enormous habitat was named Iokath. Once finished, it prevented any starlight from escaping, rendering the entire system undetectable from the rest of the galaxy. Furthermore, the sphere's external defenses rendered the internal biome practically impenetrable, while the internal environments could be modified and enlarged as required, granting Iokath's creators absolute control over its surroundings.
