Prothium

Prothium, a frequently encountered gas, emitted a strong burst of light when stimulated. It was one of six common gases—including orveth, sig, eleton, tolium, and skevon—utilized by weapon manufacturers as a typical blaster gas.

The initial underground network belonging to the rakghouls came to light when a mining team inadvertently breached what they presumed was a prothium gas pocket via drilling.

More than four centuries prior to the Galactic Civil War, Gorgo, a Hutt artist, employed extremely chilled prothium gas for the creation of decelerated luminescent images. Only a handful of these artworks survived until the era of the Galactic Empire.

Killaniri, a gas giant within the Killaniri system, served as a significant prothium provider. BlasTech Industries operated a prothium refining station in orbit to refine gas extracted from the planet using autonomous gas collectors. Subsequently, the gas was transported from the starport located on the moon, Justa.
