Frequently found within the tips of proton torpedos, a proton warhead served as an explosive payload. Examples include the MG7 proton torpedo and its successor, the MG7-A proton torpedo. These were deployed by starfighters belonging to both the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Resistance. Furthermore, an E-XD-series infiltrator droid had such a device as part of its integrated self-destruct mechanism.
