The Prowler 1000 seeker droid, also known as the Prowler probe droid, represented a specific type of probe droid employed by both the Galactic Republic and subsequently, the Galactic Empire. In contrast to the larger Viper probe droids that the Empire also deployed, Prowlers were not built to cover extensive ranges; their primary function was localized monitoring. These droids featured several limbs and a flattened, circular chassis. Notably, a transceiver antenna was situated on the lower surface of the Prowler, enabling it to continue broadcasting signals even when the droid appeared to be non-functional.
