The Python, a warship of the Assassin-class corvette type, served the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the escape of Imperial officer Commander Zaletta.
Following the destruction of a minefield near an Imperial Communications relay Comm Center by Ace Azzameen's group, the Python was dispatched to retrieve the relay's logs. These logs revealed Zaletta's location within the Eidoloni system. While the download was in progress, TIE bombers emerged from the Ton-Falk-class escort carrier Halberd, which had arrived to halt the operation, posing a threat to the Python.
Despite the attack, the Python was successfully defended, and it managed to transmit the critical data to Rebel Intelligence.
