According to the mythological beliefs of the Weequay, Quay'va was a female warrior priestess. The god known as Sri'quay'va is said to have created her and bestowed upon her dominion over fire. She is known for slaying the warrior Luur, after which Quay imprisoned her.
The name Quay'va was erroneously understood as Cueva by the Galactic Republic when they journeyed to Sriluur.
