Due to its glider-like characteristics, the vehicle produced minimal noise relative to other repulsor vehicles. This made them well-suited for covert deployments by the Galactic Empire involving Stormtroopers, as well as patrol missions across diverse landscapes like the forested planet of Aris and the canyon regions of Ebra. Operation of the R-444 involved utilizing a leg rest bar in conjunction with hand grips connected to the wings. Piloting was relatively straightforward, particularly at slower speeds, and the repulsor unit facilitated effortless long-range travel. However, the pilot's reliance on both hands and legs for steering presented challenges when attempting to operate the blaster.
