R2-D5

R2-D5 functioned as a multi-purpose unit for the Rebel Alliance. Though primarily an astromech droid, it also served as a labor droid. This adaptability rendered it vital in numerous technical roles, spanning from resource acquisition, such as the extraction and refinement of carbon, to the repair and construction of structures. The R2 unit was quite useful.

Models

The R2-D5 line featured a diverse array of models:

  • Regular : This standard model mirrored the fundamental design characteristics of other R2-series astromech droid units.

  • Carbon Collector : R2-D5 Carbon Collector R2-D5 Carbon Collector While sharing design similarities with other R2-series astromech droids, the Carbon Collector distinguished itself with a rear-mounted container designed for storing extracted carbon. Its primary function involved mining and transporting carbon crystals for subsequent processing.

  • Nova Carrier/Ore Collector : To accommodate a front-mounted carrier, the Nova Carrier/Ore Collector model featured extended legs. Its purpose was to transport both extracted nova crystals and various types of ores.
