R2-V0, a droid of the R2-series astromech variety, was distinguished by its purple color scheme. This particular droid, R2-V0, belonged to Ixsthmus, an Ithorian who captained a vessel for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Affiliated with the Green squad of the Reekeene's Roughnecks, an Alliance team, the droid was stationed on Ixsthmus's starship, known as the Long Shot.
The ship's co-pilot, Siene Symm, took the unit apart more than fifty times. The reason for this repeated disassembly was to fix the constant flow of gibberish emanating from the unit's actuator. However, Symm's repair efforts were futile, as the noises weren't due to any malfunction. Instead, the droid was actually a poet, creating the sounds for their aesthetic quality.
