Raid-war

Raid-wars represented minor battles that took place among various families, called steri, belonging to the Adnerem species that originated on the planet Adner found in the Expansion Region. The purpose of these raid wars was not the complete destruction of rival steris, because a weakened steri could potentially become a valuable ally. Instead, they aimed to modify their position in Adnerem society. It was typical for influential steris with opposing objectives to participate in raid-wars, and smaller steris might unite in a raid-war to oppose a stronger steri that was misusing their authority.
