Raid in the Rudrig system

The Raid conducted within the Rudrig system involved a Rebel operation targeting a disabled freighter, named Ars Opus, to acquire R2 Units which were critically needed by the Rebel Alliance. It was later revealed that this was a trap set by the Imperial forces.

Prelude

The Alliance to Restore the Republic's Ordnance and Supply Command issued a warning regarding the critically low stock of R2 units. Consequently, the Rebels initiated an urgent search for R2 units.

An earlier scouting mission had identified a freighter transporting R2 units that had experienced a malfunction in its hyperdrive system while located in the Rudrig system.

The Raid

The Rebel forces dispatched 3 R-22 Spearheads from Red Squadron alongside a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle, known as Rescue Riker. The shuttle carried a boarding team tasked with seizing control of the freighter.

In the midst of the raid, a group of unidentified pirates also launched their own assault on the freighter with the intention of stealing the R2 units.

The Aftermath

The Rebels successfully secured the R2 units they desperately required, but these units proved to be a strategic deception orchestrated by the Empire with the goal of capturing members of the Rebellion.
