Raid on Kammia colony

During the initial stages of the Galactic Civil War, as chronicled in years past, the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium launched aggressive attacks against several Imperial outposts situated on the fringes of settled space, taking Human colonists as slaves via a process they termed "entechment." This was part of an arrangement with Emperor Palpatine, who desperately sought the advanced technology of the aliens. Kammia was one such colony world, targeted by the Ssi-ruuk in a raid that occurred in 2 ABY.

Prelude

Palpatine, the Emperor, forged an agreement upon establishing contact with the Ssi-ruuk, an alien race of invaders: In return for access to their battle droid technology, they were granted permission to assault smaller colonies located on the edge of colonized space. The colony of Kammia, situated within the Drynn system, became one of their targets.

The raid

The planet Kammia was the victim of a raid conducted by the Ssi-ruuk.

Aftermath

To maintain secrecy regarding the Ssi-ruuk's involvement, the Empire directed the Imperial Colonization Board to disseminate a fabricated account on date 37:4:21, which was then broadcast through Imperial HoloVision and the Galaxywide NewsNets. This story claimed that a "mysterious" virus, supposedly originating from Chandrilan grain brought to Kammia by the colonists, had wiped out the entire colony.

Despite these efforts, whispers and rumors regarding this and similar incidents circulated among spacers, spreading through the galaxy's various cantinas.
