The forces of the New Republic launched a raid against Nal Hutta, which was under the control of the Yuuzhan Vong, during the year 28 ABY. The purpose of this assault was to provide new soldiers with combat experience in a situation where the New Republic anticipated victory, to ready them for a future pivotal large-scale engagement. Whether or not the Hutt underworld was involved in this conflict remains a mystery.
