Rajine

Rajine was both a countess and a Jedi, existing during the concluding centuries of the Galactic Republic. Furthermore, possessing the abilities of an Energy Vampire, she had the power to siphon the life-force from living beings. Ultimately, the Jedi Knight named Samuro identified Rajine's danger and subsequently imprisoned her within a city situated on a far-off world. Following Samuro's death while establishing a Force barrier encircling the planet, thus preventing Rajine's escape from the city, she appropriated Samuro's protocol droid, identified as Z-18, for her own purposes.

For hundreds of years, Rajine exploited her ability to drain life-forces, transforming her victims into subservient, mindless zombies. During the period of the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Mace Windu journeyed to Rajine's city while searching for the missing Alpha-2 Squad of clone troopers. Upon Windu's arrival in the city, Rajine began to gradually deplete his life-force and subsequently imprisoned him. However, Z-18 intervened, liberating Windu and providing him with Samuro's holocron. Windu then confronted Rajine, utilizing the holocron to recite an incantation that released the life-forces of the zombies controlled by the Countess. As a result, the zombies turned against Rajine, ultimately leading to her death and the cessation of her threat to the Jedi.

Biography

Early life and imprisonment

Jedi Knight Samuro sacrificed himself to imprison Rajine and the victims of her life-draining abilities on a remote planet.

Countess Rajine, a female Jedi, served the Jedi Order during the closing centuries of the Galactic Republic. As an Energy Vampire, she possessed the ability to drain the life-forces from living beings. Samuro, a Jedi Knight, eventually recognized the danger posed by Rajine and subsequently imprisoned the Countess and her victims within a city located on a remote world. Samuro died while using the Force to create a barrier, ensuring that Rajine and her victims would remain confined within the city indefinitely.

The deceased Jedi Knight's Force powers maintained the confinement of Rajine and her victims within the city for a period spanning several centuries. During this time, Rajine retained possession of Samuro's lightsaber and Jedi holocron, and also claimed Samuro's protocol droid, Z-18, as her own. Over the years, Rajine continued to drain the life-forces of sentients, transforming them into mindless zombies to carry out her commands.

The arrival of Mace Windu

Rajine's zombies capture Jedi Master Mace Windu.

Centuries later, during the Clone Wars, which occurred between 22 BBY and 19 BBY, Mace Windu, a Jedi Master, arrived on Rajine's planet while searching for the Alpha-2 Squad of clone troopers, whose last transmission originated from the city where Rajine was imprisoned. As Windu was escorted into the city by Z-18, Rajine initiated the process of draining his life-force. While investigating the city, Windu discovered that the clones had perished, and he was subsequently captured by Rajine's zombies.

After imprisoning him, the Countess confronted Windu, informing him that she had awaited the arrival of another Jedi on her world for centuries. The Jedi Master found himself unable to summon his lightsaber using the Force. Rajine revealed that she had been draining his life-force from the moment he crossed the city's gate. She disclosed her intention to gather all of Windu's life-force to facilitate her escape from the planet.

Death

Rajine attempted to persuade Windu to succumb to her life-draining abilities, but the Jedi recognized her as an Energy Vampire and responded with insults. Rajine retorted that she would outlive him and seized Windu's lightsaber, departing and instructing Z-18 to follow her.

Later, upon discovering Windu's escape, Rajine dispatched her zombies to search for him throughout the city. After they located him, Rajine struck Windu, causing him to fall to the ground. She also destroyed Z-18—who had aided the Jedi's escape—using Windu's lightsaber, commenting that she should have disposed of the droid after Samuro's death. Windu then activated Samuro's holocron, which Z-18 had provided him. The holocron's projection of Samuro addressed the Countess, revealing that she would be defeated when the image and Windu spoke the "words of banishment." Following the recitation of the incantation by Samuro's image and Windu, the zombies regained their free will. When she commanded them to kill Windu, Rajine's victims turned against her and caused her demise.

After Samuro imprisoned her and her victims on the remote world, Rajine became determined to escape. She eagerly anticipated the arrival of another Jedi on her world. During her conversation with Mace Windu, she mocked the Jedi Master and his abilities with the Force, referring to the Force powers as "Jedi magic." Rajine treated the droid Z-18 with disdain and frequently spoke down to him. After discovering that Z-18 had freed Windu, Rajine destroyed the droid. Rajine possessed purple skin, violet eyes, and white hair.
