Ranon Djelkh

Ranon Djelkh, nicknamed "Ranny" by the few who dared to call him that, was a seasoned smuggler with grand aspirations: to become the most powerful Devaronian crime lord on Tatooine. However, Jabba the Hutt, the established kingpin of the desert planet's underworld, had other plans. This led Ranon to attempt a violent overthrow of the Hutt's empire.

Biography

Djelkh's life of crime began on his home planet of Devaron, where he dealt in glitterstim and supplied weapons to the various anti-Imperial factions operating there. As the Empire's presence on Devaron increased, Ranon decided to seek his fortune elsewhere, taking his cargo ship to more lucrative markets. He engaged in smuggling and trading contraband on planets such as Bimmisaari, Nar Shaddaa, Kessel, Ryloth, and numerous others, before eventually settling on Tatooine. He saw the desert planet as a land of opportunity, where a ruthless individual could build a criminal empire from sand, spice, and the exploitation of the vulnerable.

He forged alliances with local crime bosses, only to betray them when it suited his needs, always ensuring his power was just enough to deter retaliation. He climbed the ranks of the criminal underworld, dealing in whatever illicit goods were in demand, until his ambitions were thwarted by Jabba the Hutt. Initially, Jabba had ignored Ranon, but when the Devaronian finally caught his attention, Jabba offered him a subordinate position. Ranon, however, was insulted by the offer – he refused to be a mere lackey to a Hutt. He immediately resolved to dethrone Jabba and claim his position as the supreme overlord of Tatooine's criminal operations. His efforts to unseat the corpulent gangster ultimately failed, and Ranon Djelkh met his end at the hands of the Tusken Raider named A-Zulmun.

Personality and traits

Ranon's physical appearance was typical for a Devaronian, although his skin had a noticeably ruddier hue. He adorned the upper portions of his horns with gold sheaths, ostentatiously displaying his wealth. His clothing was crafted from the finest silks available in the galaxy. He cut a rather dashing figure, save for the ever-present look of ambition in his eyes. When facing dangerous situations, he carried his reliable heavy blaster pistol, but he always kept his hold-out blaster concealed within the left sleeve of his bantha-skin jacket.
