The Galactic Civil War saw the establishment of a modest outpost by the Rebel Alliance on the moon of Yavin 4 following the Battle of Yavin. Located in a secluded area of the dense jungle, the outpost was made up of a pair of small, dome-shaped structures and protected by Alliance soldiers. Princess Leia Organa briefly resided at this location in 1 ABY during the Project Dead Eye situation.
This Rebel outpost was a location featured in Star Wars Galaxies, the 2003 video game that was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. The game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, before it ceased operations on December 15, 2011.
This particular building was one of five small Rebel outposts – along with the Dantooine, Dathomir, Endor, and Lok outposts – that were incorporated into the game as part of the second act of the "Cries of Alderaan" storyline. This addition came with "Publish 3" on October 8, 2003. In the second act, Rebel players were randomly assigned to one of these five outposts to connect with a Rebel Commander. That commander would then task the player with going to a communications outpost to send a message to Doctor Vacca. During the third act of the storyline, which was introduced via an update released on January 22, 2004, players were once again dispatched to one of these outposts to meet Princess Leia, who would request them to defend a Rebel research facility.
