Recusal

The Recusal represented the Jedi Order's reaction to the Pius Dea Crusades. Back in 11,933 BBY, the Order determined that continued association with the Pius Dea-dominated Galactic Republic was untenable, citing the Republic's immoral actions targeting alien species.

Consequently, the Order chose to withdraw from the Republic, cutting all connections and retreating to their academy on Ossus. The Jedi remained isolated there for the subsequent eight centuries, until the Caamasi successfully persuaded them to act in opposition to the Republic. While the main Order stayed on Ossus, certain individual Jedi independently fought against the Pius Dea, while some misguided Jedi even chose to align themselves with the Pius Dea. These Jedi eventually established themselves on Garn, where they later founded the Order of the Terrible Glare.
