Rendel, a planet within the Kiva system, was under the reign of Queen Bellan. However, Bellan's sister, Zalla, forced her to flee. In an effort to reclaim her throne, Bellan employed smugglers like Han Solo and Chewbacca. Their mission to Rendel was disguised as a statue delivery, but their true purpose was to overthrow Zalla.
