Despite her accomplishments, Artha experienced prejudice and scorn from both instructors and fellow students due to the Academy's ingrained bias favoring male Humans. This discrimination continued after graduation, preventing her from receiving a promotion. Furthermore, Naval Command hesitated to promote her because they suspected she might sympathize with the Rebel Alliance, given her origin as a native of Chandrila, a planet known for its rebellious sentiment. Ultimately, Artha deserted to the Alliance and became a Rebel pilot.
