A spaceport was constructed in the city of Mos Osnoe on the planet Tatooine by the Galactic Republic as the Clone Wars raged against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Republic's motivation for building the spaceport was to generate revenue from trade within the Outer Rim Territories, which would then help fund the war effort. The existence of this spaceport angered Boorka, a Hutt crime lord residing on Tatooine; he subsequently asked General Sev'rance Tann to obliterate it in return for valuable data, and the spaceport was consequently destroyed.
