Repulsorlift skate

Repulsorlift skates served as a specialized variant of repulsor boots for the Nimbus commandos hailing from Jabiim.

Characteristics

Repulsorlift skates, a defining piece of equipment for the Nimbus commandos of Jabiim, were a specific kind of boot that incorporated repulsorlifts in the heel area. This allowed the user to hover up to a height of three meters above either the ground or water surface. Furthermore, they included thrusters situated in the calf area, which enabled the wearer to achieve speeds of up to ninety-five kilometers per hour. When activated, these boots produced a visible distortion effect. The thruster mechanism was notably fragile and highly susceptible to damage from blaster weaponry, possessing explosive properties.

History

To traverse the muddy terrain of Jabiim, a world deemed impassable by walkers and similar vehicles, the Nimbus commandos of Jabiim employed repulsorlift skates. These skates rendered the Nimbus Commandos virtually invincible on their native planet, and they were used to great strategic advantage during the Clone Wars. Utilizing these skates, small teams of three could effortlessly breach enemy formations, access heavily armored vehicles and walkers, and neutralize them using explosives and grenades. As they retreated, the commandos would deploy mines in their wake, using the repulsorlift capabilities of their skates to safely navigate over the mines without triggering their detonation.
