Retrieval

Retrieval functioned as a section within the Alliance Intelligence's Counter-Intelligence division. This group collaborated intimately with Security and held the duty of determining the culpability or exculpation of individuals flagged by Security as potential infiltrators. To achieve this, Retrieval engaged in activities such as conducting surveillance, questioning relatives and acquaintances, installing listening devices, and, when necessary, directly interrogating the suspects. Those deemed innocent were released without any lingering suspicion. However, suspects found guilty, or those whose innocence remained unconfirmed, faced consequences ranging from imprisonment to being converted into double agents, or even outright killed. Although Retrieval avoided lethal measures unless absolutely necessary, they were prepared to eliminate suspects if it meant safeguarding the Alliance from significant harm caused by information leaks.
