Rhamalai

Rhamalai, situated close to Seitia Prime, was an agriworld where the Cherishites sought refuge after being oppressed by the Galactic Republic.

Around four hundred years before the Galactic Civil War, the Cherishites, a group with religious undertones, found and made Rhamalai their home. On a small section of Rhamalai, they established a community, building a society that prioritized living in balance with their new environment. About a hundred years later, corporate prospectors stumbled upon Rhamalai and tried to seize control of the planet. Only a native Jedi Knight, who was originally a colonist, stepped in to ensure that Rhamalai remained under Cherishite rule. This Jedi Knight continued to safeguard Rhamalai throughout their extended life, until they perished as the New Order gained power.

Following the loss of their Jedi protector, the Cherishites started the process of forming a planetary government. The economy of Rhamalai was heavily dependent on agriculture, a fact that the Empire exploited. The Galactic Empire conquered the planet sometime after the pivotal Battle of Yavin. As a result, one male member from each Cherishite family was forcibly recruited into the Imperial forces.

A typical day on Rhamalai spanned thirty standard hours, while a complete year consisted of two hundred and forty-six days.
