Rho Squadron functioned as an Imperial Navy squadron. Their service was for the Galactic Empire throughout the time of the Galactic Civil War. They engaged in combat against the splinter government fleet commanded by the rebellious Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin during the period of the Zaarin insurrection. The squadron's equipment included Alpha-class Xg-1 Star Wing starfighters. On one occasion, the squadron was sent to a planet covered in oceans, where one of its pilots launched a missile attack.
