He discovered the stone possessed Force-sensitive properties, enabling him to encase his consciousness within layers of the Force, thereby preserving his memories intact. Subsequently, he inquired of Qui-Gon whether he had been aware of the stone's Force sensitivity, but Qui-Gon remained enigmatic in his response.
Years later, Obi-Wan presented the river stone to his own Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, on Anakin's thirteenth birthday.
