River stone

This river stone served as a thirteenth birthday present for Obi-Wan Kenobi, bestowed upon him by his Master, Qui-Gon Jinn. Its surface was sleek and black, with red streaks becoming visible when illuminated. Initially, Obi-Wan felt perplexed and underwhelmed by what seemed like a worthless gift from his Master, but his appreciation for it grew over time.

During Obi-Wan's capture by the Syndicat, a criminal organization that held sway over the planet Phindar, the stone's abilities rescued him from the dreadful prospect of mind-wiping at the hands of the Syndicat. He discovered the stone possessed Force-sensitive properties, enabling him to encase his consciousness within layers of the Force, thereby preserving his memories intact. Subsequently, he inquired of Qui-Gon whether he had been aware of the stone's Force sensitivity, but Qui-Gon remained enigmatic in his response.

Years later, Obi-Wan presented the river stone to his own Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, on Anakin's thirteenth birthday. Anakin displayed greater gratitude for the gift than Obi-Wan had initially, recognizing its prior ownership by Qui-Gon. Indeed, Anakin eventually regarded the stone as "his most precious possession."
