The Roche system, a system situated within the Mid Rim, was home to the most substantial Verpine population. It was comprised of the Roche asteroid field that revolved around the star known as Roche. To render the asteroids suitable for habitation, the Verpine were greatly dependent on technological solutions.
Subsequent to the Battle of Yavin, the Battle of Roche unfolded within the confines of the Roche asteroid field. In the aftermath of this disastrous event, Imperial starships enacted a blockaded of the system for a significant portion of the Imperial Period.
