Asajj Ventress and Durge are engaged in a search of a sizable starship. Darth Tyranus informed them that he could detect a presence there. They make their way into a chamber brimming with numerous battle mementos. Having divided their forces and blocked all avenues of escape, they approach each other from opposing ends of the hall.

Durge finds himself under assault from a lethal fusion of ominous existence and cutting-edge machinery, later identified as Grievous. Ventress enters the fray, but she also succumbs to the might of this novel adversary. Returning to Tyranus, his instructor, accompanied by the pair of injured figures, he receives confirmation that he has successfully completed the trial. He is then instructed to submerge Durge and Ventress in bacta tanks to facilitate their recovery. Subsequently, Dooku elevates Grievous to the position of Supreme Commander of the Confederate Army.
