The Naboo's monarch would hand over the royal scepter (a type of scepter) to the incoming monarch during their inauguration ceremony. This action, the transfer of the scepter, represented the shift of authority from the current ruler to the next. In 28 BBY, at the Theed Royal Palace during Réillata's coronation, Queen Padmé Amidala gave her the royal scepter.
