Ry-Kooda, the elder sibling of the Herglic pirate Bar-Kooda, was consumed by a desire for vengeance against Boba Fett. Fett had been responsible for his brother's capture, subsequently handing him over to Orko and Gorga, two Hutts who ultimately devoured Bar-Kooda. After numerous attempts to hunt down Boba Fett, the bounty hunter finally succeeded in killing Ry-Kooda.

Upon learning that Boba Fett had captured Bar-Kooda, leading to his demise as a meal for the Hutt Gorga and Orko, Ry-Kooda vowed to exact revenge. During their honeymoon on Skeebo, Gorga's wife, Anachro, was abducted and held for ransom. Gorga then contracted Fett to perform a rescue. Simultaneously, Ry-Kooda embarked on a mission to assassinate both Gorga and Fett.
The paths of Fett, the kidnappers, and Ry-Kooda converged on Skeebo, resulting in a violent confrontation. Fett successfully extracted Anachro from her confinement within an abandoned mine, only to be confronted by Ry-Kooda, a more formidable and dangerously unhinged adversary than his brother. Although Fett defeated Ry-Kooda by triggering a mine collapse with a wrist rocket, Ry-Kooda survived, leading to a second encounter.
Gorga once again enlisted Fett's services, this time to eliminate his father-in-law, Orko. Seeking to maximize his profit, Fett opted to protect Orko instead of killing him, shielding him from a bounty hunter hired for the job. After assuming the threat had been averted, Fett departed from Orko's palace. However, during the night, Ry-Kooda infiltrated the palace, brutally murdering the crime lord and consuming parts of his body. Believing Gorga had orchestrated her father's death, Anachro abandoned her husband. Ry-Kooda's gang intercepted her vessel in the desert, and as he prepared to kill her, Gorga intervened to rescue her. Ry-Kooda overpowered Gorga's men and held both Hutts at his mercy. Boba Fett intervened, preventing him from killing them and initiating a fierce duel with the Herglic. Ultimately, Ry-Kooda was defeated when Fett ignited the radioactive waste surrounding him, incinerating him.
Ry-Kooda possessed a savage temper, and the news of his brother's passing unleashed an almost unstoppable fury. During this period, Ry-Kooda appeared impervious to pain and reason, relentlessly pursuing Boba Fett like an unstoppable force. Ry-Kooda seemed to have limited intellectual capabilities, rarely uttering anything beyond growls and shouting Boba Fett's name, although this may have been a consequence of his rage.
Ry-Kooda possessed remarkable strength, capable of hurling large pieces of machinery and debris with apparent ease. Furthermore, his hide was thick enough to deflect blaster fire. Even Boba Fett found his conventional weaponry, including flame throwers and rocket launchers, ineffective against Ry-Kooda's tough skin.
Despite the claim that he was Bar Kooda's older brother, the two exhibited noticeable differences in appearance, raising questions about whether they shared both parents or were simply blood brothers. Bar-Kooda's skin was smooth and glossy, whereas Ry's skin was rough and bumpy. Bar-Kooda had segmented eyes positioned on either side of his head, while Ry's eyes were deeply set into his skull in the front. Bar-Kooda had five fingers, whereas Ry only had three.
