Saber 3

Saber 3 was a TIE/IN interceptor from Sienar Fleet Systems, serving the Imperial Navy. As part of Saber Squadron of the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing by 4 ABY, DS-181-3 piloted Saber 3, acting as wingman to Baron Soontir Fel of Saber Squadron, protecting Fel. While flying as Fel's wingman in Saber 3, the interceptor was frequently instructed to stay a certain distance away from the baron to allow him the space he needed to maneuver during starfighter combat.

During the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, DS-181-3 engaged in combat, where Rebel Alliance starfighters were trying to destroy the Galactic Empire's Death Star II battle station, while TIE pilots were trying to defend the Death Star from the Alliance fighters. The battle concluded with an Imperial loss and the destruction of the Death Star. Saber 3 featured a bloodstripe, which was the standard emblem of Saber Squadron, indicating a minimum of 10 kills.
