The Sarapin drilling platform was a base belonging to the Galactic Empire, situated on the planet Sarapin. This laser drill, constructed on a structure above a volcanic crater, functioned without issue until the Rebel Alliance seized control of it.
In the year 0 BBY, the Rebels' hold on the drill slipped, resulting in significant tectonic instability that annihilated an energy collector. The continued operation of the drill posed a threat of triggering volcanic activity and groundquakes capable of devastating the planet's landscape. Luckily, Brenn Tantor and his troops appeared to wrest control of the Sarapin installation back from the Alliance. Tantor successfully reclaimed the drill and deployed his technically proficient brother, Dellis, into the facility, where he successfully entered the deactivation sequence, thus preserving Sarapin and its ability to produce energy.
