Sean Barton took on the editing duties for the 1983 release of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, a film within the original trilogy. On August 19, 1982, Barton, in collaboration with director Richard Marquand, put together a director's cut of the movie. This version was then shown to producers George Lucas and Howard G. Kazanjian, along with fellow editors Marcia Lucas and Duwayne Dunham. The duration of this particular version was 127 minutes, and it lacked any visual effects shots.
