The Sector Command took over operational control of the Coruscant Security Force in the initial period of the Galactic Empire, superseding the Senior Command. At this point, the CSF was referred to as the "Imperial Sector Police".
Coruscant Nights II: Street of Shadows, authored by Michael Reaves and released on August 26, 2008, marked the initial appearance of the Sector Command.
