The Swamp Seer, alternatively known as the Seer of the Temple, hailed from the planet Gap Nine and was a native there. As the protector of an age-old temple, the Seer made his home within its walls, guarding its valuable possessions. Due to the actions of Colonel Icus Traft, the individual in charge of Imperial operations on Gap Nine and a plunderer of numerous temples for relics, the Seer held animosity towards the Galactic Empire.
Unexpected assistance came to the Seer in the form of a team of Rebel agents, who were executing a sabotage mission. These Rebels aided the Seer in the defense of his temple against an attempted raid by Traft and his forces.
