Selth belonged to a team of bounty hunters that Governor Grigor of M'haeli employed to apprehend the insurgent Mora. After their commander, Glott, subdued Mora but was then assaulted by Ranulf Trommer, Glott passed the prisoner to Selth, who then brought her to Grigor.
