Shalera, a Hutt who unusually followed a set of morals for her kind, was recognized as "Lady Hutt" because she identified as female. She was once a member of Black Sun, but during the Galactic Civil War she sided with the Alliance to Restore the Republic against the Empire.
Lady Hutt could frequently be spotted managing her various ventures from the back room of a cantina in Tyrena, despite owning facilities all over Corellia. Shalera would often give protection to Rebels, and her security personnel would escort the Rebel operatives to secure locations. Her partnership with Black Sun began to deteriorate shortly after the Battle of Yavin. Shalera could not stand the greed of the Black Sun, which began to negatively impact her commercial enterprises.
A spacer was once hired by Ubis Reendorr, a Rodian smuggler, to pilfer a shipment of B1-series battle droids from Shalera's storage facility located on Corellia. At the warehouse, the spacer was taken aback to discover not only a group of pirates and thugs, but also Shalera herself. A gunfight broke out, and the Hutt managed to escape while her guards were defeated, which enabled the spacer to deliver the shipment to Reendorr.
