The Shapani Bypass, also known as the "Bacta Run", served as a hyperlane shortcut, facilitating the movement of bacta from Thyferra to the Core Worlds. This route, a branch of the extensive Rimma Trade Route, came into existence around 2203 BBY. Despite being a shorter route, it experienced significantly higher traffic volume compared to the Rimma segment it circumvented, effectively becoming an integral part of the larger trade route. The creation of the Shapani Bypass significantly reduced travel time on the congested Rimma Trade Route.
Starting at Thyferra, the bypass diverged from the Rimma, traversing the Tapani sector. Within this sector, it navigated past planets including Achillea, Aleron, Tallaan (at which point it met with both the Giju Run and the Procopian Shipping Lane), Lamuir IV, and Mrlsst, before finally merging back into the Rimma.
