The Shell Hutts represented the smallest of all the Hutt clans. Their home was Circumtore, and their symbol was a tortoise.
Aside from their distinctive armored shells, constructed from thick durasteel plates welded together, they were essentially the same as typical Hutts. These shells served as protection from harmful radiation. To support their substantial weight, the shells incorporated built-in repulsors. Shell Hutts actually grew to be even larger than normal Hutts because their repulsorlift shells eliminated the need to use their muscles for anything other than eating. They would periodically upgrade to larger shells as they gained mass. These events were cause for celebration.
