Short was a male Human smuggler who conducted his business from Tholatin. Because he possessed knowledge regarding the impending targets of the Yuuzhan Vong, he and his accomplice, "Tall," ran a scheme. They would transport refugees who paid them aboard their freighter, the Trevee, from refugee camps to planets on the verge of being invaded by the Vong. Subsequently, they would return, collect the same paying passengers once more, and perpetuate their deceptive operation.
