Shuror was a settlement situated on the galactic periphery planet of Mandalore. Before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, a galactic-scale war, the Mandalorian warrior Kal Skirata and Ilippi Skirata, his spouse, resided in a modest dwelling in Shuror at the start of their union. Sometime afterwards, specifically 19 BBY, well after their relationship had dissolved, Kal Skirata reflected upon his days spent in Shuror with Ilippi as he chopped timber at his new residence in Kyrimorut.
Shuror's debut in Star Wars continuity occurred in the 2009 book, Imperial Commando: 501st, which was the fifth installment in the Republic and Imperial Commando book series penned by writer Karen Traviss.
