Sidewinder

Sidewinder, a standard light freighter frequently employed as a small cargo transport, was once docked on the planet of Tegrat. As Imperial forces made the decision to invade Tegrat, seeking to eliminate any presence of the Rebel Alliance, the Sidewinder welcomed aboard a diverse collection of previously unrelated beings and tried to escape to Tatooine, a world the ship's captain described as a haven for immigrants. Despite encountering a small number of TIE/LN starfighters upon its departure from Tegrat, the ship successfully initiated a jump to hyperspace. However, after four days in hyperspace, its hyperdrive failed, causing damage to the hyperspace engines and leaving the crew stranded in hyperspace near a vessel they identified as Imperial Research Station 13. The station promptly attacked, disabling their sublight drives as well, and then began pulling the Sidewinder into itself using its tractor beams. Although the crew attempted to fix the drives, they discovered that the tractor beams were creating a disturbance in the drive systems, making diagnostics impossible.

After realizing they would not be boarded, the group exited the ship, only to find it deserted except for a horde of rogue R2 units and 3PO droids, along with a former crew member now possessed by the Black Mist. When they tried to capture the former crew member, his body disintegrated, and the Black Mist entered the body of one of the group members and fled back toward the Sidewinder. Despite the rest of the group pursuing him, they were constantly attacked by the R2 and 3PO droids, and eventually the Black Mist managed to get back on board the Sidewinder. He immediately commanded his droid army to deactivate the tractor beams and began repairing the drives himself, assisted by a couple of his droid companions. Although he succeeded in escaping the research station by allowing the Sidewinder to drift into open space, the remaining group members managed to destroy the Sidewinder with the research station's turbolasers, forever stranding both themselves and the Black Mist.
