Resol'nare

The Six Actions, known as the Resol'nare in Mando'a, formed the core principles of the Mandalorian way of life; these actions are translated into Galactic Basic Standard. These principles involved donning armor, utilizing the Mandalorian language, protecting yourself and your family, raising offspring in the Mandalorian tradition, contributing positively to the clan's well-being, and answering the call to arms under the banner of the Mand'alor.

Adherence to these guidelines, embodying these actions daily, was a prerequisite for anyone aspiring to be recognized as Mandalorian, according to tradition. Mandalorians who failed to uphold the Resol'nare were labeled dar'manda—individuals ignorant of their Mandalorian heritage and devoid of their Mandalorian soul. The state of being dar'manda instilled great fear within Mandalorian society, stemming from the belief that such individuals were soulless and had no place in the Manda, the Mandalorian concept of the afterlife. Before and during the Mandalorian Wars, all non-Mandalorians were considered dar'manda and soulless from birth until they embraced the Mandalorian way of life and adhered to the Resol'nare. Groups of captured people were often forcibly integrated into Mandalorian culture, compelled to swear allegiance to the Resol'nare under the threat of death, regardless of their consent. This fervent approach diminished over time as Mandalorian society transitioned towards a more secular and less religiously driven existence.

To aid young Mandalorians in learning the Resol'nare's tenets, a rhyme was taught, with parents elaborating on the cultural importance of each tenet as the children matured.
