Skip 1, the main asteroid featured in Smuggler's Run, served as a haven with a spaceport and extensive smuggling operations. It also contained the kinds of places you'd expect to find with smugglers, like cantinas and casinos. Its difficult-to-navigate asteroid field made Smuggler's Run a safe place to hide. Among various asteroids designated "Skip", Skip 1 was the biggest. A strange slime nearly caused the asteroid's destruction at one point.
Boba Fett, along with some fellow bounty hunter colleagues, had living spaces on Skip 1; by 17 ABY, these quarters were no longer used and were repurposed into a dining area. Later in the same year, Skip 1 sustained damage when bomb-laden droids, destined for Coruscant as part of Dark Jedi Kueller's New Rebellion, detonated, leading to the deaths of several smugglers. Han Solo and Lando Calrissian rescued some of the wounded, transporting them to the nearby Wrea system for medical attention.
