Skritons, occasionally called desert crabs, constituted a species inhabiting the moon of Jedha. Their nature was characterized by ruthlessness and unpredictability. A defining characteristic of Skritons was their asymmetry; the left claw significantly dwarfed the right, functioning as a weapon to seize and constrict adversaries. The crushing power of these claws was substantial, capable of obliterating objects and subduing prey with ease. Furthermore, their hide exhibited remarkable resilience against formidable assaults, notably lightsaber attacks, especially on their prominent left claw. As predators, they were among the most dangerous entities on Jedha, ambushing victims from subterranean lairs, emerging precisely when opportunity arose. The Jedi knight Cal Kestis held a negative view of these beings.
