Born on May 14, 1971, Sofia Coppola is an American director, screenwriter, producer, and actress. In the 1999 movie Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, she made a cameo appearance as Saché, who served as one of Queen Amidala's handmaidens. She is the sibling of Roman Coppola and the offspring of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, a longtime associate of George Lucas. Coppola is also recognized for her role as Mary Corleone in the 1990 motion picture The Godfather Part III, and for writing and directing works like the 1999 drama film The Virgin Suicides, the 2003 comedy-drama Lost in Translation, the 2006 historical drama Marie Antoinette, and the 2017 thriller drama The Beguiled.
