The SonoMax 75, a sonic pistol designed by SonoMax, was employed by the Corporate Sector Espos mainly as a tool for quelling unrest and managing large groups of people.
The SonoMax 75 had adjustable settings, allowing it to produce varied results: a sonic blast, capable of inflicting substantial harm similar to that of a blaster rifle, or a sonic stun, which emitted a strong cone-shaped wave akin to a stun grenade, able to render targets helpless. With an effective range of twenty meters, the Sonomax 75 was consistent with the Corporate Sector Authorities philosophy of prioritizing potent riot control weapons, even if that meant ignoring incidental harm. The stun setting, in particular, was highly efficient, projecting a cone that expanded from .5 meters wide at 0-3 meters, to 1.5 meters wide at 10 meters, and ultimately to 3 meters wide at 20 meters. Notwithstanding the efficiency of the stun setting, its effectiveness could fluctuate based on the hearing capabilities of the sentient being targeted. As a result, the secondary stun function occasionally required adjustments to maximize its impact. However, regardless of calibration, both functions could still deliver a considerable physical force, often strong enough to topple sentients.
